Once in a while you encounter a city that frustrates the hell out of you!
I don't mean in a 'Dire Dawa' way.
More in a 'If this were Europe...' way.
Bahir Dar is what passes for a Lake Resort in Ethiopia.
It sits on a gorgeous stretch of water lined by sweeping palm trees, the climate during the dry season is apparently mild and breezy and the people are incredibly gentle. Still endemic touting but they engage you in conversation as oppose to screaming and lunging.
Bahir Dar however has a few things preventing the European hoards from descending:
This is definitely a city with potential!
If I had the money to invest, I'd open a Writer's/Artist retreat plus juice cafe and make an absolute killing despite the insane neighbourhood Bahir Dar has unfortunately found itself in.
