Well travelled, recently graduated with a Masters from a Russell Group University in the UK. I have employment experience in both the UK and Australia as well as voluntary experience in Asia. My paid roles span a number of fields from media intelligence, traffic journalism and crisis management. I have a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, as evidenced during my Undergraduate Degree where I simultaneously juggled two jobs (one full time), University and extra curricular projects. I’m well accustomed to dealing with people and am looking to build a career in Malta.
Education: 2016-2017 Newcastle University, Newcastle Upon Tyne Creative Writing (MA) 2013-2015 Staffordshire University, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire Scriptwriting and Film (BA Hons First Class) While studying at Staffs, I was responsible for writing the script outline for our university’s entry for the annual 24 hour film competition. A competition in which as a team you write, produce and edit an entire film within 24 hours. I coordinated this with simultaneously working a nightshift a few streets away and preparing an essay ahead of a deadline. 2012-2013 Ruskin College, Oxford Writing for Performance (Cert HE) Other December 2016-Present 140 Hour Online and Practical based TEFL Certification I’m currently learning the skills involved in teaching English as a Foreign Language.
October 2017- Royal Mail, Sunderland Advanced Customer Service Answering queries from customers and handling complaints regarding the UK postal system. October 2015-September 2016 Inrix IIG, Birmingham Traffic Data Editor Managing the Virginia, Washington DC and Baltimore desks during their rush hour period my role involved live monitoring incidents, logging them and providing real time information to television and other media networks. I also assisted with inputting live construction updates onto Inrix’s map for the Greater Boston/Massachusetts area. November 2013 – June 2015 Allied Healthcare, Stafford Emergency Call Co-ordinator A full time nightshift role whilst at Staffordshire University, my role involved taking emergency calls from clients, often with dementia and other health issues, resolving crisis’s that might have occurred, liaising with Police and Social Services across Allied’s branches nationwide and dealing with staff absences (attempting to find short notice cover) Other duties at Allied involved monitoring staff performance and informing relevant bodies of deceased clients. March 2008-August 2010 TNS Media Intelligence, London Broadcast Monitor My role at TNS (now Kantar) involved monitoring television and radio broadcasts from a variety of sources for a huge range of clients ranging from Government bodies and Corporations to media outlets, logging key details and then writing a synopsis of the content in the house style whereupon my work would be passed onto Sales who would sell the synopsis along with a Real Media clip to the client. The role was a form of modern ‘press clipping’ Other Various ranging from Market Research Callcentres (Ipsos Mori, GFK NOP, I-View) in the UK and Australia to freelance script-editing for a friend’s Bitcoin tutoring company. Voluntary Employment: Whilst still at school as a teenager I began running a hospital radio station which I subsequently managed to extend to the local housing estate. This gave me an early if entirely self-taught experience of managing PR and events. Interests: I’m a keen amateur photographer and have travelled, writing extensively about my experiences in China and most recently, Ethiopia.
